Arcade Belts | The Board Basement
Ed Leigh is a pretty versatile guy. He’s on your telly sometimes, snowboards quite a lot, rides and explores with some of the best snowboarders out there, bit of a mountain “action sports” name with the Brits and across Europe. He’s done some work with Arcade Belts too, a hilarious bit of advertising and you know what, it really does Arcade Belts justice. Their belts are even more versatile than the man himself.
I don’t know if you wear a belt with your sports gear or active wear but if you have avoided it in the past due to it being uncomfortable, overly chunky, or the wrong shape for the movement you require, then Arcade may just have the answer you’ve been looking for. I know in the world of snowboarding wearing a belt is a particularly annoying thing to have to do. While some pants come with Velcro adjusters in the waistband, I’ve never found them to be amazingly secure and forever loosening. Bending down to do up bindings or tweaking out grabs and spinning can really pinch you with normal belts on… especially after lunch.
Arcade Belts have remedied this! They stretch and work around and with your body. An innovative mix of industrial strength yarns and natural rubber meaning you have the flexibility in the belt to work with your agility while retaining a comfortable tension to hold your pants right where you want them. They are lightweight and durable so you don’t need to worry if you get it wet. Snowboarders sitting in snow is a recipe for wrecking belts, particularly leather. Arcade have ensured their webbed belt material doesn’t deteriorate. It’s water resistance and dries quickly so you can stick it back on when you head out for dinner after a day’s riding. Fixing the Arcade Belt around you is a light and tough thermo plastic buckle, created to take the stresses and strains of an active life.
I believe the sports and particularly the extreme sports industry, needed something like this, for an item that can be so easily overlooked, but essential to save the embarrassment of accidental exposure in cold temperatures… unless that’s your jam then it’s still a solid fashion choice.
The versatility of Arcade Belts really stands out through how many activities you can use it for. Snowboarding to horse riding, biking to hiking, parascending to climbing, golf to driving. Wear it in the pool then wear it to dinner! A multitude of styles to choose from and some that feature a touch of the traditional leather look up-front, to a heavier weave and classic buckle you’re spoilt for choice. They do suspenders too!
