How many ski/ snowboard socks should you take on holiday?

This is a question we get asked quite a lot here at The Board Basement. I've been with shredders that change their socks daily, so 7x pairs for a weeks holiday. Equally, I have been with riders that just take one pair for the whole week. But regardless of how you want to play the holiday-sock-game, you do need a good old reliable pair of comfortable ski socks to do the job.

Stance make pretty cool socks, fact. The winter 2019/20 collection has just walked into The Board Basement, and there isn't a smidgen of cheesy foot odor in sight.

Stance Socks

The History Of Stance Socks

Stance have been revamping the boring old crusty snowboard sock since 2009. Stance found a category that was in need of a serious face lift. And with people making more and more of a statement of the sock commodity these days, a group of artists, performers, athletes and influencers all helped to inject new life into the common sock. This group was called The Punks and Poets. With these creative roots combined with some crazy technical innovation, Stance was given the gift of life. Stance Socks are now found in over 40 different countries all over the world. They make a statement, they make feet standout, they encourage someone to be different. Stance focus on Art + Science to create the best socks in the world. The Science bit: They endeavour to create the strongest fibre and the world's softest fibber (Butter Blend) and concentrate on "fit fabric function". The Art Bit: They unite individuals who all have the common goal of striving to be different, don't follow the crowd, create their own paths.

Gratitude: humble in communications and treatments of others

Stance Snowboard Socks

Stance do socks for many many different occasions and activities (bike, run, training, skate, lifestyle, street). But something they do REALLY well is snowboard socks. This year they have separated snowboard socks away from ski socks into their own category. Their snowboard socks are designed to be sleek, resilient and well insulated. They are all constructed out of carefully considered material that wicks moisture away from the foot keeping your feet dry and fresh. This also prevents rubbing and blisters forming in your snowboard boots. They have a breathable performance mesh that means they will inhabit less bacteria (this can make you feel smelly). They have added compression zones which makes your foot feel nice and secure inside your snowboard boot. They have a toe box oven to keep your totes toasty, and engineered arch support air channel cushioning FEEl360 technology. The socks are made nice and thick to maximise even more cushioning across the bottom of your foot and extra protection whilst riding.  But they are still super lightweight so they don't feel heavy and cumbersome. They are knee length so you have plenty of coverage and come above your snowboard boot to prevent sore bits. Stance snowboard socks basically react and adapt with your foot so nothing will hold you back from doing what you love.

The 3 Styles Of Stance Snowboard Socks this year:

Ultra Light- these are lightweight and thin to give you a closer fit between your feet and your snowboard boots. Also good for if your snowboard boots are too tight or you get really hot feet/ spring riding.

Polyblend- these maximise cushioning across your feet and are good for anyone allergic to wool or vegans.

Merino Wool-these are extra thick warm and also don't smell as much as they are self cleaning! (although good idea to still wash them!)
