Why Do We LOVE Adidas Snowboard Boots So Much? | The Board Basement
The 2020 Adidas Snowboard Boots have landed at The Board Basement.
Adidas Snowboard boots are some of the most forward thinking and advanced snowboard boots on the market. But what make them so good? Adidas owes a lot of its success to Adidas Boost Technology. But how does Adidas Boost work? Why does boost make snowboard boots so responsive?
Adidas are already so well known in the sporting world with such a renowned athletic heritage. Since 2012, they have been working hard to translate their years of experience and technical advances with their sporting footwear into snowboarding boots. Because of their innovation and knowledge, they have created some of THE BEST snowboard boots on the market. They have made their mark in a big way. They have not only become some of the most comfortable snowboard boots out there but also the most refined snowboard boots we have tested- giving you amazing response and performance.
What Is Adidas Boost?
Boost is a material used to make the mid sole in Adidas shoes and snowboard boots and it has revolutionised the standard EVA foam used in most products. It was developed by the Adidas innovation team (AIT) and German chemist (BASF) to create soft yet responsive cushioning. Thousands of expanded particles (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) form closed cells around tiny pockets of air. The result being they work together to give a quick return of energy with every step. The cushioning effect of this technology makes it feel like you are running/ walking/ snowboarding on precision engineered clouds. True story! Boost is also made to cope with a variety of different temperatures, so it doesn't change when its plummeted into freezing temperatures in the mountain. It's flexible yet durable, just the kind of property you want out of a snowboard boot: something super comfortable and adaptable, but still withstands anything you throw at it. Boost is most famously known for energy return. This means the power to absorb and return the athletes kinetic energy is ENORMOUS. Adidas is definitely the icon of energy return with its lightweight responsive premium cushioning. Be careful doing an Ollie in their snowboard boots though, you might end up at the moon!!!
As well as Boost, the Adidas Snowboard Boots all have other awesome technologies too:
Ultralon Foam Liner- heat moldable and forms to the shape of your foot to give you a customised fit.
Natural Fit- A 3D moulded tongue and articulated cuff shell for a longer life span and progressive flex
Internal Stability- For a non-slip fit the boot has an inner ankle harness with speed lacing so your foot is nice and secure with the best response.
Rubber- Rubber outsole for traction on snow and ice and a rubber backstay to prevent slipping between the boots and binding highbacks.
